They are delicious

This is very bad, I'm legitimately surprised that people actually like this.

It's because of the WUB man.

It's because of the pre-drop samples. They're like yelling "GO!" before a breakdown.

I like the electro parts mostly

Yeah, it's a disappointment that he dropped those and now exclusively just makes dubstep for the brownie points

He found his niche, now it's about the money.

the electro parts are dece
rest is shit

Is his niche simply providing drops though? Did he realise his fans were only interested in one thing and is that why he favors repetition over evolution?
|
| |
I just wonder: is he making music for himself, or for his fans?

"Did he realise his fans were only interested in one thing and is that why he favors repetition over evolution?"
It's exactly that, he knows that his current style is what is keeping him high on the charts; and he will keep making money.
Sure, the music isn't good... per se anymore, but it gives general public what they crave.

considering he tried a solo singing career that failed and then dubstep took off and all of a sudden he's into it i'd say fans.
seems right

well he tried a solo singing career that failed and then dubstep took off and all of a sudden he's into it. i'd say fans.
Plus there was his early electronic stuff as well, which, while terrible, certainly wasn't this. I can enjoy someone making music because they've caught onto the buzz and enjoy it, but there's something incredibly hollow about Sonny's work. Dubstep and electro finally catch on in America and he jumps on board. The dubstep parts are met with a warmer reception, thus he drops the house

It is hollow, most of his material is recycled over and over again. If he actually does something original with his sound, I will shit.

I mean if he's happy with this whole "I'll do what it takes to be in the spotlight" bit then good for him I guess. I'll just never really have any respect for someone who has really just latched onto something because it presented itself as marketable
I mean just look at his live show to realise he really doesn't have a clue as to what he's doing

Most people will have this mentallity actually. So even though he's popular now, the bitter irony is that the repetition that made him famous; will also be his downfall. So he'll just be seen as a fad of the times, and not really have any credibility.

The big question is what's next for the teeny bopper American electronic scene, and how long before Skrillex hops on it?
