Check Acts of the Unspeakable too, the almost-t/t melts bodies and "Funereality" dooms hard.

Nero, serious question, why would this not be death/doom?

Album Rating: 4.5
Because its a death metal album. Theres obviously a lot of doomy passages scattered throughout though.
|
| |
Yeah I would agree, it is first and foremost DM. There's enough doomy/slow riffs that I understand why someone would call it both though.
Doesn't really matter to me in the end, I enjoy it either way, but it's an interesting discussion.

Death/doom tends to borrow more from classic doom riff wise, just with death growls, so its a form of doom metal.

I see what you mean. I guess I assume a sort of primary/secondary relationship in terms of x/y genre tags. Being pedantic, that would make me think you're talking more about doom/death, but this could just be the way I interpret the tags.
It probably sounds like I care too much about this but really I'm just bored at work.

The way I see it death/doom implies death metal influenced doom which is exactly what it is. Its kinda like blackened death metal in that respect.

Destroys.

Yeah makes sense to me, I'm not really a genre stickler, but I think it's interesting as far as considering the influences.
|
| |
But yeah this album rules, the guitar tone is one of my favorites.
