I'm pretty much with Talons here, though my hopes for the band's future are probably on the lower end of the spectrum. Their last 2-3 albums just don't have the lasting appeal that most of their previous works had some semblance of. The Astonishing definitely shot down much of my enthusiasm for the band.

It's funny, when the whole thing with Portnoy wanting to take a break was, well, "breaking news," I rolled my eyes a bit. But in hindsight, the man may have had a point. Then again, both parties have been all over the place with their respective projects, so who knows what to think or believe?

Right now I'll settle for DT taking their I&W tour here to the States, preferably Florida. That way I can cross them off my list. But I feel like if they're not recording they're touring, and again, a break is something that could benefit all parties.

his contribution to the songwriting is very poor tbh

he does very little to elevate the songs to a higher level

Agreed smaug, especially over the past decade when he gets the spotlight it's usually wankery.

They had already slightly passed their zenith of creativity with Scenes but their spark was still bright enough to create one more masterpiece.

Plus I never had any problems with the production on Scenes. What's wrong with it KILL?
