Holy fuck that was beautiful. Atrophy completely slayed me. Everyone applauded after each song, but after that one the entire venue was so dead fucking silent you could hear a needle drop. Breathtaking.

I say this every few months but I 1000% don't remember writing this review. A complete shock to click back to it and see my username up there

this is one of those albums i can only listen to when the mood calls for it. seriously depressing stuff. 'two' is especially heart-wrenching
|

I love the ending one-two punch

saw them perform this two days ago, it was prob a top 5 concert for me. Pure magic.
|
| |
I actually got tickets to see them in London in the end but I must’ve been too tired / sick / ill for it because it was good, but less-so than I had hoped
|
| |
Is this the best place to start with these guys? I ordered this CD but I’ll buy the rest of the discog if I like whatever I hear first.

Attic of the Universe is a good place to begin, then move chronologically.

| |
Cool man, thx. Also — who could these guys be compared to? Brand New, Modest Mouse, Manchester Orchestra etc? The few songs I’ve listened to are good, but more atmospheric than rock-ish.
|
| |
Ordered Hospice, Burst Apart and The Familiars but actually can’t find a CD copy of Attic to buy. Fuck.

Each of their records has almost a completely different sound so it's tough to compare them to any one artist. They're the furthest thing from Modest Mouse or Brand New. They can go to anywhere from post-rock to jazz to indie-rock. Everyone has a different favourite but all of them are practically perfect.
