I can see where you are coming from, but I just find Jupiter a bit more consistent. Plus one of the reasons Cave In said they changed sounds is because there were bands doing the same thing better like Botch, which is true. The sound change was the best thing they could have done in my opinion.

i dislike a lot of botch influenced bands. however everything about their actual material kicks so much ass, it's ridiculous.

botch owns. i'd probably say i like them more than converge but they are just about tied. and i agree with enotron that botch influenced bands tend to be unappealing even though most people say it all sounds the same
