Supper's Ready would still be "transcendental and revolutionary" if it was released today I think

@RikRoach, you don't give this a 5 because of the ending of Can-Utility??? Ok, maybe they seem to be rushed to finish that song but come on mate, it's not that bad and the rest of the song is amazing. It's instrumental part with 12 string guitar and organ is for me one of the best moments of the album. Time Table is a cool ditty, but it's the only song that has no climax on here. It's kind of refreshing though.

I didn't mean the ending of Can-Utility, but that specific part that I really, really can't stand because of its cheesy melody and delivery. In the end, this album is essentially stuck between a 4.5 and a 5 and that's the decisive bit that makes me shy from the 5. You've got to understand though: I have like 15 5s in 700 albums. My 5s are albums that I think are damn perfect and have had a huge impact on my life in one way or another. I don't throw them around like a lot of other people do. So one part that I don't like on an album that is nearly perfect but not quite there can be a reason for me not to 5 it. It's a way to distinguish between the "best" albums and my absolute life-changing favorites.

That part when Gabriel goes full crazy is actually pretty funny and I like it, even though it definitely isn't one of my favorite moments... The part right before it, that's a different story. Listening to Gabriel solo stuff right now so I can't pick out the exact time
edit: it's 4:56

Fair enough RikRoach. I try to be as objective as possible before 5ing myself.
I will consult your highest ratings since our musical taste is similar.
Speaking of Peter Gabriel, I intended to make a top 20 list, but there are too many great songs, and so it's mission impossible for me.
