While I have a minor issue with it, this review is fantastic.
First of all, The Dark Side of the Moon is my favorite PF album, and one of my favorites of all time. and I will agree that, there is a following not only to this album, but to this band that does not take in PF's music without considering coutless opinions on the band/album before declaring them legendary and that they are the best band ever, fact. I have seen this happen with people I have recommended PF to. and this is flawed, in that this perspective is essentially opinions passed off as fact.
but in the same vein, in your review, it seems like you follow the same flawed thinking in explaining how this album is inferior to their other works from 73-83. Your musical opinion on the certain tracks on subsequent albums being masterpeices is hardly an objective observation. specifically regarding, straight from the review: "At this stage however, I think it might be worth pointing out that there's a strong case to be made for it being the worst Pink Floyd made between 1973 and 1983, with the band's three subsequent albums all being superior to it. While this may seem like a bold statement, the facts bear it out." this is as much a subjective opinion based on musical enjoyment as someone who loves this album and band for what they value.
that being said, this was still a great review and you made many valid, intelligent points. I'm glad people appreciate Brain Damage/Eclipse as much as I do. Good job!
