Worst sugar. This sounds like the awkward in-between phase from their transition from thrash to the groove-oriented style that they perfected on Nothing. Not to mention that there's just a lot of annoying stuff on this album, from Jens trying to extend too far out of his natural vocal range, to the headache-inducing last minutes of Elastic.
