it's not so much the music itself as the kind of 'legacy' it has to me; it singlehandedly made me check out EVERY animal collective album and EP, and made them my favorite band. i don't think any album except maybe in rainbows has done something like that

i think people kinda come in with expectations
i didnt know anything about animal collective or the album ('cept critical acclaim) and it kinda washed over me and i loved it
idk if people who expect it to be awesome enjoy it less or something (probably)

well from what I recall yesterday they did have beatz...lots of them. And they just went nuts on them right before the chorus-it was one of the best moments during the concert.

yeah I had a similar situation "My Girls" disappointed, but "Brothersport" killed. "Summertime Clothes" did too. But "Fireworks" hurt. I could have sworn they started "Grass" in the middle and I almost lost my mind, but they were just wanking

I saw Animal Collective post-Feels, pre-Strawberry Jam and they only played Loch Raven from Feels. They are practically done playing anything from Feels besides Banshee Beat apparently, which is once every few shows. They do still play Leaf House and Who Could Win A Rabbit regularly, which is lovely

I just went on an Animal Collective spree, listening to Sung Tongs, Feels, Strawberry Jam and ending with this in the quest to force myself to like Animal Collective. It worked. Everything clicked. I see the genius. This is amazing.
