It really doesn't sound all that similar. Jordan has the better voice imo, plus he isn't all Christian. Not that there's anything wrong with Christian music but LD is like post-hardcore for emo kids and that makes me a happy sniper.

mewithoutYou shit all over this band. La Dispute lyrics seem shallow and maudlin after listening to any of Weiss's stuff. But you're right, they're pretty different and La Dispute don't tend to experiment nearly as much as mewithoutYou do, although Jordan clearly rips off Aaron's vocal approach.
