Blackend
Enter Sandman... or even
That Was Just Your Life
St. Anger was crap, and I hated every song on it. So I was dead serious with my question. Do you really think Frantic is their best opener, or was it a joke?

I'd personally go for Fight Fire With Fire as the best opener, TBH. It's just that wonderful moment of confusion "Wait, this is Metallica rite?" and then BAM! BAM! BAM BAM BAM!

Blackened IMO too.
But back to the review,the only thing I disagree on is calling The Thing That Should Not Be skippable.It's one of my favorite Metallica songs and one of the best on the album.

I got to know metallica through trivium, since their music was heavily influenced by this album, or so I've heard. I'm not a thrash fan but this album reminds me of 2006, the year I got to know other music than nu metal(Melodic death metal and metalcore).

Blackened is fantastic. Frantic is a decent song, definitely not good enough to be mentioned in the same breath as the other openers discussed here though.
