my main problem with aphex twin is that everything he does goes on just a little too long. most of the songs here could be at least a minute shorter.

Richard just made a little SAW 1.5 playlist on his soundcloud account: https://soundcloud.com/user48736353001 and left the following comment

"there are more inc. version of the tracks that were released on saw1 that will come out on re-release one day hopefully, so saving those for that."

Sounds like SAW 85-92 is gonna get a re-released with some bonus tracks eventually.

Finally found a copy of this at a record store today and I'm pretty darn happy about it. Nearly flawless record, only weak point is the iffy production

Well it was recorded directly onto tape I believe. I wonder if there's a way that RDJ could remaster this.

It has been remastered. The version I bought today is a 2008 digital remaster on CD.

According to RDJ the reason why the production quality is off in some spots is because his cat mangled the original tape! Who knows whether it's true or not of course...

i think Richard D. James was on the phone with "god" when he made Ptolemy, that riff is just so effortless genius
