The production here is too thick and clear to be "gritty". It might not be high fucking def like most of Opeth's other albums, but it's in no way raw.

Eh, they have a few 'miss' albums, but for the most part their discography is unusually consistent. Now if you want a perfect discography, I recommend Neurosis. Perfect meaning the first two albums never happened.
