The thing I said about representation on UK telly isn't entirely untrue by the way, but substitute one minority with another, same result.

This band is also progressive from a musical standpoint, I mean imagine watering down black metal to this degree so any bugger can appreciate it? Revolutionary.

imagine making black metal interesting enough that it has more widespread appeal than to some long haired teenagers wearing their mothers makeup ;-]

Not sure how this has more "widespread" appeal than pure black metal. If anything, it's more niche.

i think the raw popularity that album has had since it's release begs to differ

More appeal than a Darkthrone or Emperor? I'm not sure about that.

This album straddles the line between black metal, screamo, post-rock and shoegaze.

Considering how much easier Shoegaze and Post-Rock are to get into than pure BM yeah this definitely is easier to get into. Even when compared to a lot of other USBM stuff this is pretty digestable.

I'm not sure that's true. I can't remember how easy it was for me to get into either of those genres.

i'm gonna agree that this is more niche. as a bm fan, i definitely gravitate toward the more traditional stuff, but i've def come to appreciate this too as my bm horizons have expanded
