We must publicly shame him until he is forced into answering. Until then, we can obviously just assume he is very very pro-genocide.

Radiohead and Thom specifically have been extremely vocal throughout their career on social causes and injustices around the world.

I think it's perfectly reasonable for people to wonder why he has been silent the Palestinian genocide and then disappointed when his response amounts to "sowwy, my feelings were hurt that people wanted me to speak up. Both sides bad"

We don't need to smol bean Thom Yorke

I just don’t understand the obsession with dissecting everything celebrities say. They’re not politicians. Okay, he said a whoopsie. Not a great look but it doesn’t define him or his previous views. Opening up about your mental health at an inappropriate moment isn’t exactly that damning now, is it?

Did he even say a whoopsie? Or is it just that he didn't check off quite enough of the topical buzzwords to appease people? Literally who gives a fuck what these people think anyway? Are any of them doing anything that makes a tangible or substantive difference? I'll bet the tens and tens of thousands of mangled, obliterated civilians in Gaza and the few remnants of their families are super glad and grateful that the dude from Imagine Dragons held up a Palestine flag at their last concert.

“Literally who gives a fuck what these people think anyway“

I mean this should be it but apparently people do care. They care far too much.

I wonder what Bono would say to this...

Anyway, if one expects celebrities to solve political issues, one will inevitably get annoyed and/or disappointed, celebs are just humans with one poophole.

Celebrities -especially ones like Imagine Dragons who would typically be considered apolotical- speaking out against genocide is good, actually. It normalizes support that Israel, the ADL, the military industrial complex, the GOP, and ghouls like Chuck Schumer & Biden have fought so hard for the people of world to be against.

This isn't a matter of needing Thom Yorke to say some disingenuous buzzwords about an ongoing genocide, but a very valid critique of him being uncharacteristically silent on this issue and then him turning it into a "but I'm just a small little guy" moment.

Thom or any individual musician isn't gonna magically make things better or Israel stop, but it's so childish and pea-brained to not recognize his statements and where they fit in the tapestry of this whole situation.
