Very enjoyable album. Although not on par with the previous PF classics, this record is truly a standout. That 3.2 average doesn't do justice to the music that is found here.

The album is both underrated and unappreciated.

@rockandmetal: I'm part of the reason it's so low. I just couldn't get into anything other than

the last 2 tracks.

How is this rated only 3.3? At least it should be a 4!

i wonder what it is that people don't like about it. when i first heard this i assumed it would have a rating as high as their other classics and i was surprised when i saw the overall

I think people dislike the way Roger was commandeering every aspect of the writing by this point. like how the back of the album says "a requiem for the post war dream by Roger Waters.....performed by Pink Floyd" shit like that...I mean Roger was turning into a bit of an ego maniac with his writing but fuck, this album was worth it imo

i actually know very little about the band's inner feuds. been meaning to change that, because i saw a few quotes from arguments they had in the past that were pretty amusing

Love you guys.

This is easily Floyd's most underrated/misunderstood album.

yeah it's interesting stuff. this is the last album Roger was with them for, and if you really pay attention to the songwriting over the course of time, it's so evident how Roger was controlling practically everything. they had so many arguments about Roger not letting them contribute their ideas to the writing process, and how many times Roger would bring ideas to the table and no one else would have anything etc...it got pretty intense, read about it when you can it's really interesting.
