Mono was fantastic live! Never listened to them but watching them live made me interested and I'll definitely be going through their discog.

their first five range from great to fabulous, but from for my parents onwards they become trite and poop

I believe Roger Ebert's assessment of BLUE VELVET was also, simply, "trite and poop."

If you're diving into Mono for the first time, I'd start with Hymn to the Immortal Wind. You won't be disappointed

Saw them in Baltimore. Top 5 best live performances ever. Getting to hear Ecailles Part 2 is a memory I'll carry my whole life.
Komorebi is like ten times better live. This 5 is going nowhere.

Mono was pretty good but I feel like their sound is probably better for a good pair of headphones than live music. Gonna give their stuff a spin soon.
I was actually really impressed with the first group, Kaelen Mikla. Sick vibe. Pretty basic instrumentation but absolutely massive atmosphere.

I saw Mono headlining years ago and thought they were great but I can imagine their show could vary pretty wildly depending on the set list they chose
Stoked to see these guys in a couple of weeks

COM was absolutely massive when they played it live back then and i just peeked at the setlist from their recent shows and it isn't there. Not totally surprising given the time limits for an opener and that they have a new album to showcase but still was really hoping I'd get tonhear mono play it again. Oh well

Listened to this and thought it was pretty good. Just saw them live and now I think this album is incredible. Amethyst was out of this world

Finally got around to giving this another listen, and it's still good but I don't think I like it as much as Shelter. Flamme is still a goated track though

Have to give it to Mono, the new songs were a lot punchier live. Enjoyed their set more than expected. Ashes in the Snow was still the clear highlight though.
Kaelan Mikla were cool and I'm def intrigued enough to want to check them out more.
Alcest were phenomenal. The Protection/Sapphire/Ecaille 2 run especially was so good

Yeah, you're in for a really fantastic time! Mono also killed it too and I had no idea of their music. Definitely going to start discog diving them at some point.

I wish they'd come with Kaelan Mikla but they're just playing with a random local band (that I don't care about)
