“ imagine if 2014 D'Angelo and 2015 Kendrick got into the studio together. Throw in Erykah Badu and Black Thought and Robert Glasper in there. Chris Dave and Thundercat playing drums and bass on every song. It'd be FUCKING STUPID.”
This is a recipe for disaster imo. There’s a reason so many supergroups flop. Too many big personalities in a room together fighting for space…

Also black thought and kendrick together doesn’t sound to me like it would mesh well at all. That whole thing sounds terrible disjointed to me lmao

Not even as feature?? And let's imagine for a moment, in this totally made up scenario that would never happen, that egos weren't a thing and everyone just played their role tastefully. Got out of the way to serve the song. At the very least, it has to sound better than Dave Grohl and Josh Homme.

haha i do want to preface that i meant dave plays drums and homme plays some guitar and neither do anything else
anyone remember that beyonce/jack white collab? i think kendrick could pull off something in that style potentially

Idk how well Kendrick would actually fit in a rock context tbh, would be much more interested to hear that kind of thing from a JPEGmafia or even a Tyler the creator, maybe even one of those new NYC drill guys I don't know any of the names of

Anyone else find it really odd seeing this album embraced by relatively youngins? Here in god's own it seemed like his tour was bristling with late teens, which I didn't really see as the target audience here

"seemed like his tour was bristling with late teens, which I didn't really see as the target audience here"
feel like its gotta be kids who were in middle school when damn/black panther dropped and went backwards. maybe i'm out of touch but i feel like this album didn't make all that much of a cultural dent compared to his other albums. his recent baby keem and beyonce features seem more "relevant" than anything on here
speaking of... keem seems to be fucking huge for that generation. my little sister dgaf about kendrick but she was perfectly willing to drop $200 to see keem open for kendrick
