Yeah it's absurd. Of course labels should get a cut but that ratio is just terrible. No wonder people become pessimistic about the industry. Putting in maximum effort to get almost zero reward.

again i have no problems with any band being independent. of course it’s a good thing. i just think begging for money from fans to foot the bill is lame, especially when you’re as successful as this band already is.

I think most of us are so attuned to what a 9-5 job experience is like that we don't really comprehend how difficult it can be for bands to generate revenue to sustain a livelihood. It's why so many of these dudes play for sponsorships...because that way recording equipment and road gear get provided at a steep discount (or free, I legit don't know how these sort of sponsorships work) compared to what they would have to pay out-of-pocket.

But these guys are also doing tutoring/instructional lessons off-tour, constantly writing new material, grinding out tours year in and year out. Sounds draining enough without a label taking 80-85% of everything you make.

175k in 2 days, talk about a wildly successful campaign. I do love seeing that kind of support for such a niche genre and I'm sure the album will be insane.

They're gonna crack 200k for sure, maybe even 250+ by the end considering they have nearly a month left. It does warm my heart to see a tech death band get this much support

That said I think I'm honestly more interested in Dean's new guitar company than this upcoming album lol

I think that drum video of spencer playing through Lucid going semi viral really helped this group's fame. truly good for them.

honestly the only good thing about this album is the production is so ass it’s gonna give everyone who listens to it such bad hearing loss they won’t be able to listen to music anymore.

My band toured with inferi several years back. Watching spencer play every night was very humbling lol. And he is a really nice dude too
