I dug it, I don’t think it’s quite as good as Hell 99 or Greyhound but Conor really shines on it more than the other two.
Going back to the original audiotree, and then hearing him like that, the guy really has much more control of his voice.

Greyhound is just perfect mellow Foxing, but Hell 99 is just a damn banger which will be a live favorite for sure. I only listened to Spit once but i loved the industrial vibe on it. Wonder how it will fit in the tracklisting. So looking forward to listening to the album, which i ofc have pre ordered

shrine by Republic of Wolves for me with 2018. Invalids - Fulfillment EP is probs 2nd if i'm going overall but this is def right behind those

mwY's career finale still takes #1 for 2018 for me, but NMG and Shrine are like, basically right there with it lol.

shrine and untitled both rule but my tracklists of them both look different than the ones they went with
(altho ig also true of nearer my god bc i trade crown candy for speak with the dead and more or less pretend this doesnt exist otherwise)

always wondered, but why does this band have a Post Rock tag? something up with those first two records, because I v much do not hear it on this or NMG

kinda. would never have fully called them a post rock band but they peppered it into what they were doing on dealer in particular
it's not really like, "cool" post rock flavorings though
|
| |
johnny are you telling me you've never listened to their debut?
(.. Not that I would classify it as post-rock)

I would very much call Dealer post rock, so I think that tag stuck maybe because the band is so hard to pin down to one genre after that

Dealer def has its post-rocky moments

revisted this after self-titled to see if there was some hidden genius here but no, this is still not it. Honestly this is kinda bad overall but it's not offensive enough for me to rate it lowly.

Bialystok is one of the worst songs of the decade and Beacons is better than the majority of the s/t, but otherwise this weirdly holds its own against it through having a much higher floor and much lower ceiling. absolute pure 3.0 vs. a 4.0-2.0 hybrid

Beacons' chorus has no business going as hard as it does, but fuck you re: Bialystok
