Oh yeah, the Dueling Cavalier is a majestic piece of art and going to so many places that it was hard for me to digest on a first listen. Feels a lot more math-rocky, so guess i just need a lil adaptation time everytime i come back to this band. They definitely feel like a very special band to me.

bumped this to a 5. Insane how I still have different songs pop into my head randomly that I love. Just now Soliloquy, and who could listen to that without Reverie after? It's all just SO fun

Giving the b sides another shot. They're have some different touches here and there. Maybe they could've improved the album, but you would need to cut two other tracks

"Little Snakes" is an easy choice but I couldn't cut any others. Is it a bad track? No. Are the b-sides better? Yep.

At first I didn't care much for "The Canary" but now I think it's one of my favorites.

The Canary grew on me a lot pre-release.

From The Sky grew on me a lot in the past few months

and they're probably still my bottom 2

this album is too good

big agree with bubs, the first two tunes are standalone the weakest songs here, but they work so well as an intro to the album I can't imagine it any other way

Little Snakes is the furious mathy banger that holds the middle run of this album together, definitely necessary too. honestly just slot Cavalier in front of Gardenias and we're good, everything else is fire as is

Yeah tbh as much as I don't come back to Soliloquy or Gardenias much, this sequencing is tight and there's nothing worth cutting here. Most of the gripes I have are preferential issues with the kind of hooks the band often go for; shit is tight

It took me like two dozen listens but right now I'm pretty confident calling From the Sky the best thing they've ever done, and it segues so perfectly into All Hands, which might be the second best thing they've ever done.
