i mean, it's not gonna happen but Shelf Life was pretty indicative of Kurt being just what these guys need right now

I used to want Kurt back but now it’s clear to me that he just doesn’t have it in him anymore. Shelf Life is one of my least fave DGD tracks and it’s solely because of Kurt’s boring and meandering vocal melodies - such is par for the course with most everything he’s done post-DGD. All this to say - to this day Deathstar is my favorite DGD album.

both ALLB albums with him are incredible. Eternity Forever was the perfect project for him and the fact that we aren't getting more of that sucks. Royal Coda's debut had some bangers but was kinda meh. the follow up was really good doe. i haven't listened to muuuuch Kurt solo stuff but i love Desperate

and i'll say it again cuz i want to, i love Shelf Life

ALLB was pretty ok to good but even then he wasn’t nearly as good as he was in DGD. I suspect that’s because he had more to work with with DGD. However, most everything of his since has been really uncompelling. He kinda does the exact same kind of shit now in a lot of his newer stuff.

kurt's been a one and a half trick pony for damn near 15 years guys. the only thing that changes is the music behind him

you're right about Kurt not having a lot of variety in the way he sings, but he can write a damn good hook and his rawness is really appealing.

i love Kurt a lot, but I'll admit that he is pretty trash live, though when I saw DGD and ALLB live for the 10yr anniversary tour, Kurt performed way better than Tillian.

Kurt was bad live like a decade ago sure but he's been great live since joining ALLB

i can't tell if you are all joking or not ... in the 5+ times i've seen kurt in the last 2-3 years, he's been phenomenal every time and i genuinely don't think my fanboyism has altered my judgement at all. i know he sucked in the past, but he's been a force to be reckoned w/live the last few years.

also lol at him not having a lot of variety in the way he sings. compare "kuroi ledge" to "fantasy" to "easy peasy" to "overrated" and tell me they aren't all completely different styles.

not sure why even if he did have a certain style and stuck w/it that would be bad thing anyway, but he certainly is a very verstatile vocalist

yeah, the way he sounds in Eternity Forever vs ALLB is night and day. he's a vocalist, sometimes he sounds like he does in other songs, sometimes he doesnt lol

Kurt improved dramatically live when he stopped smoking. Also, Shelf Life doesn't do Kurt justice because it didn't give him much of a platform to display the emotion in his voice, it's when he hit the 'Now you're alone, do you feel any better?' line that the emotion really came out.

Kurt’s performance on Deathstar was maybe the most varied vocal performance in all the DGD discog. His chants and extra shit he and Jon did there was gold.
