This is a wonderful Summer album. Always puts me in the best mood, especially Crossing The Rubicon!

If you just imagine that he DOES have a phd in economics it is super impactful though. Give it a try.

people have been having a go at rou for political lyrics for so long now, truly baffles me

there always this weird assumption that he thinks hes somehow writing a fucking manifesto or something

i dont see how its pseudo political either. it is political. you might not think it has much weight (of course it doesnt, its not in the form of a well written argument, its song lyrics) but that doesnt make it pseudo

its pretty surface level politics that aren't extreme in any capacity. more or less just common sense political and environmentalist commentary. that's not a bad thing though, you don't really see rockstars do that and they've been doing it for years.

can rou seem pretentious? sure sometimes, but at least he gives a fuck. like, you're really going to dock the guy for caring about the existence of this planet?

I always got the sense that Rou was saying the shit he does in their songs because he actually believes it and wants people to hear it, not for some internet brownie points

I guess pretentious was the wrong word to use in my last post. Should have said preachy instead.
