Watershed is to gothic ghost story as this is to giallo. Both are dope.

The Swedish version really clicked today. Sounds more like PC (an album I actually like a lot) but does a better job at sustaining the mood. Huge relief after the terrible Sorceress.

This is their best post-Watershed record

Heritage is best imo. This is more focused and consistent but also less exciting

Heritage all the way. Like Sorceress, this has parts of songs I feel the urge to edit out with Audacity haha

Really didn’t fuck with the singles or album on first listen but after a few spins it’s actually really fucking great. Still prefer Heritage but this is very unique

It really benefits from multiple spins, there's a lot going on here.

Even after quite a few spins that reggae transition on the 5th track doesn't sit well

Reggae! Don't remember that, almost on track 5 again.

Sorceress actually helped this album by being so bad. Low expectations ftw.

It's Minnets Yta/Lovelorn Crime! Still one of my faves here, a triumph. Full power ballad suits them well, as Burden already foreshadowed.

The album has been growing on me in the last few days, becoming my post-Watershed favorite

My fave Opeth track atm is When :´|

Starting to click - still some things that I’m not keen on but it’s definitely more consistent than the last two

Best choice DDD. My fave track too. Either that or BWP t/t.

If that were true Egarran there would be lots and lots of dead people around us.
