not surprised you dig this tho boring rock is sowingcore forsure
I hardly listen to much straight-up rock; if anything it's more indie/folk/experimental. I was merely pointing out the hyperbole of comparing a slightly poppier Mastodon album to the worst of a genre that isn't even related. If anything you might feel like you're listening to A7X or something not that that comparison is much better but at least you could point to the intro to Jaguar God and talk about how he sounds so much like Shadows in the slower portion of the intro.

havent heard remissions plebby ill check it though if it's in that vein
sowing yeah this kind of reminds me of a7x but even though at their "most metal" or whatever they were still a bit poppy, an album like waking the fallen kicks this albums ass 100% imo. find something on here that even compares to you won't see me tonight 1 and 2
(and yeah ps a7x at their most poppy is also cringeworthy and equally as disappointing given both they and mastodon are clearly capable of making some legit music)

Waking the Fallen rocks hard but I'd still give this the edge because I think Mastodon has more skill (mind you, this is my first Mastodon album). Regardless, I have that record at a 4 so to me they're both superb records.

"That live performance of Mother Puncher where Troy is going ham is the best they've ever been live."
Can't argue with that, immense performance.

It's an important point for sure, but also one that I've made clear at every turn of this thread. This album definitely has me listening to more metal though, which is something that hasn't happened in at least 3 or 4 years.

honestly you should probably check crack the skye rather than remission next, it's the closest in sound to this while still being a quality album
