Some moments of subpar lyrics pop up here and there, but I wouldn't call any lyrics "cringey"

I started at 4....After a few listens, I fell in love.
This album is so subtle yet so powerful when understood.

ive been warming to this a lot more the last couple of days. now that ive had some time removed from its release to really accept the kind of album that this is, divorced from what my expectations were before. this is probably their most varied album and theres a lot of meat on the bones, moreso than on most of their albums really. im warming to pretty grids as an ok indie track that serves a purpose for certain moods. through sometimes does nothing for me, but sometimes hits the right spot from time to time, whereas before it never landed for me. i dont think i will ever like the end is beautiful but still. im finding myself wanting to listen to this album moreso than i did a week or two prior. im still much more captivated by the dear hunter's act v, and i know that wont change, but at least im starting to find times where this album suits the mood im in.

lel.
Minty, this album seems to be a hit or miss for people. The end is beautiful is literally my favorite song off this album and like you said you don't like it at all. I have not listened to Jimmy Eat World since I was younger and kind of truthfully skipped quite a bit - so for me coming into this album I had zero expectations - It just worked for me. Each to their own on this one I think.

Im a JEW fan and havent really connected with this album like it seems most others have, gave it a few more listens and still dont get the hype. The only album i would have rated lower than this is Damage but gave that a listen today and enjoyed it more than i remember.

yeah, oddly enough, with time this has grown off me already. Still more inspired than Damage and with much better production, but I handily prefer CTL and Invented to this as well as their earlier classics

Totally agree about CTL and Invented, dont really think anything on Integrity blues holds up to them. Its all quite pretty but lacking something.
People raving about The end is beautiful, i wouldnt even notice it if it was on Bleed american.
