The reason there is 'bias' is because 1 of the 'victims' doesn't even consider themselves a victim. The other one didn't want this to be brought public. And sheridan obviously can't comment on this story cause she's obv in the wrong. "Trying to bring down the biggest band in indie" personal vendetta hopefully comes back to bite her in the ass.



This whole non-situation takes away from the seriousness of other situations related to sexual misconduct.

I mostly agree with you, I just still think what Evan did is gross and disappointing, but it definitely didn't need to be treated like it was sexual assault or something, and never should have been made public
So yeah idk maybe Sheridan was worse, I've been exhausted from work so I didn't read the whole article/haven't done my homework

Just finished reading the profile. Really interesting story. It's not my place to say where bias does or does not lie but I'm happy that everyone involved seems to have come (more or less) to peace with it all and that the band are moving forward.

Relistening to this for the first time in a while and honestly it's hitting me harder than ever. Really beautiful, honest songwriting. Makes me realize how relatively weak this year has been for music; this was my 11th favorite album of 2016 but it's just about as good as anything in my top 3-5 for this year so far...which is my way of saying Skylight could well be an AOTY contender.

The single they released for Skylight last year (Intrepid, I think) is their best song and very noticeably more mature and ambitious than anything they've done previously so yeah my expectations are pretty high

My guess is they did it that way because they wanted people to read the context before they saw the album announcement, since it’s just sort of casually mentioned halfway through the article. Obviously other sites were going to just make their own articles announcing the album in their headlines but this way Pinegrove controlled as much as they could.

insightful article, mostly agree with ppl here. Evan was prob in the wrong and def had his judgements clouded by emotion but the whole PunkTalks info is very new to me and is slightly concerning as it seems the victim's wishes were completely disrespected which is unfortunate for a group that is supposedly an advocate for things like that. either way im super happy Pinegrove is still a band and is releasing this album
