I wouldn't call everything after this dogshit, but definitely subpar. Overcome and For We Are Many still have some bangers that almost match the best stuff on this (Chiron, Dead Wrong, For We Are Many). There are a few songs sprinkled in the next few after that that are still decent, but you have to get through a lot of shit to get there.

I will say their latest one with Jason Richardson is probably my second favorite behind this. Definitely a nice blend of old-school All That Remains with a modern twist.

Now I have high hopes for the last one. If you say it's better than TDH...

Seriously tho: the problem is, the later albums are mostly unambitious butt-metal, which I'm okay with. This had potential but screwed up, thus being a way more frustrating listen for me. Could've been a banger but Phil's singing is particularly atrocious, the production feels lifeless and hollow, and it drags a lot. It starts being fun after 5 tracks but then immediately goes downhill again to hit the bottom with the closer.

After a double-check I wish it had more songs as fine as The Weak Willed and Six. I'm fucking sick of Not Alone at this point.

"but you have to get through a lot of shit to get there."

Yeah, this band can drop some pretty great tracks when they try but they were definitely trying to chase the butt rock money starting around Overcome

Is that so? Might have to jam it then. I only ever jam this one and their debut.

- song is dull and whiny

- riffs are uninspired

- no tangible heaviness

- Phil's high notes are laughable

- melodies are bland af

- lyrics are borderline graphomaniac

- I can't help but hear "break my balls again" instead of the actual lyrics

Here's how I see it:

6, The Weak Willed, Air and Empty are good

This Calling and Not Alone are passable

Catalyst and Indictment are mid as shit

It Dwells and We Stand are bad

Whispers is an unlistenable failure on all levels
