I love how this record sounds simultaneously fun, and sad and depressing. Apparently Brock is a Manic Depressive

I always loved the song ''Beach Side Property'' it starts with him screaming ''WOWWWW!!!!''

lmao.

The song is also depressing, too, though.

back when the band were touring this album and lonesome, they often extended the songs so they were even more jammy and dynamic. really wish that could happen again while theyre all still alive. i was too young to see them at the time. they were pretty well known for making the songs really long live. and isaac ranting.

That's interesting but I think the song lengths are extended enough haha

Yeah this album very jammy, half the songs have a like 2 min instrumental outro.

someone mentioned, in a documentary that the songs on here and lonesome crowded west have a 'wandering' quality to them and that the band were driving up and down america in a van at the time, and that the songs sort of reflect that. i definitely agree the albums do have that sort of wandering never ending type vibe that youd get in a long roadtrip

Kind of wish MM made good music still, anyone else feel this particular way and not just myself?

Yeah Beachside Property is one of the best here. Talkin Shit About a Pretty Sunset is my number one though.

i liked their later stuff, and basically all the albums. I was surprised nobody posted about their new song ''Ice Cream Party'' on here. The other singles from this year were mentioned, which sucked. all those other singles sucked. But the Ice Cream Party song was sad and great. It was a lot like ''Little Motel'' imo.

Ice Cream Party is ok but that’s about it. Cool, kinda creepy atmosphere. But stupid nonsensical (to me) lyrics, and it feels like it drones on forever. I prefer it to the other singles though.

i used to drink/other drive to this album quite a bit so i find it hard to listen to now but always with the caveat i needed this album and those experiences to ~move forward~ with my life

...also don't drink and drive

As much as I love a drink I’ve never drunk and drove. I might stop suddenly and spill some of it.
