What's funny is I agree, but there's another album where I kinda wish it were the inverse: Janet Jackson's "The Velvet Rope" (Special is a very special closer, Can't Be Stopped very bonus-ish, and they're listed separately)

My biggest complaint is that this completely nullifies 'Irene' as a playlist-eligible song. It's so small as to almost be trivial, but I shan't be arsed with having to hit "next track" when I'm trying to vibe to a shuffled playlist.



Also yes if you want to listen explicitly to the secret track I could see that being very annoying.

Times like those ya miss iTunes and custom stopping points! I used to do that with songs like that all the time lol, then copy the file and import to do another one for the hidden track.



I know Beach House has released the hidden tracks as standalones on their B-Sides and Rarities comp. Doesn't help Irene and the playlist conundrum though lol.

I never listen to playlists, it’s either full releases or nothing. But this hidden track issue kept me annoyed for years, had to edit many mp3s to get rid of the silence. It’s weird how many bands thought it was “funny” back then. It’s just fckng stupid.
