How good is this in comparison to Rented World?

this is lyrically more nostalgia driven and musically a lot more straightforward than rented world. whether you prefer one to the other is up to you but i'd say there's a lot better chance that one falls in love with this album than rented world

performances are great. production is great. instrumentation is often more interesting. lyrics are great. the nostalgia factor is a huge reason why people love this. If ATP came out in 2012 and OTIP came out last year, the general public opinion would be different. everyone would be complaining that the production on this is shit.

Just saw them last night, and they killed it like usual.

Their acoustic set was great too.

GA for free makes up for it I'd think.

They did Bad Catholics, Male Call, Nothing Feels Good Anymore, Good Things, Burn After Writing, and Casey for their acoustic set for us. No dice on Sun Hotel pt.2 unfortunately.

"instrumentation is often more interesting."

that album uses more basic chords than any of their other albums, wut. also structurally they went straight radio rock and i find that to be annoying about ATP. thats when they started overusing choruses. and i find the production to be a little too polished, but thats a very minor complaint.

too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. sprinkle a little sugar, dont dump the whole bag.

DISAGREE

plus they do the same thing on 'sun hotel' and i would argue that almost every song on ATP is better than that one
