This is a really good album, but the things that let it down is too much filler tracks and the acoustic songs should have been released on another record instead of this one.

Was listening to this today and I feel like this album hits this strange note where if just a couple minor elements were better placed it would be a 4.5 like Travels (imo) but since it slips in those few places it takes the quality of the album down significantly for me. Stuff like White Oak Doors. The song builds flawlessly to the end (which everyone obviously gets), and the end is a cool idea, but there's just something about it that I don't buy. There's just so much of that in this album for me; these incredibly important points in the music that just slightly underperform and therefore effect the whole experience more negatively than they would normally. Or something...

NEways, plenty of awesomeness on this regardless so whatev.

Sad, isn't it? Entry level hardcore for the people afraid of real hardcore.

Only album by these guys that warranted a 5 was Travels. Lost Ground was outstanding too but this album is just a disappointment.

Pretty much. This doesn't come close, but it's still excellent.

Man. I listened to this album by Defeater first, and loved it. But I didn't know that they had pretty much traversed the storyline from Travels a second time... Maybe I should just start checking bands' albums out chronologically, and disregard the hype

yeah for these guys I think you should definitely listen chronologically and let the story unfold.

i love this record, I think his screams just get grating and repetitive not too long into it, they're not nearly as dynamic like on the other two records.

Yeah, I can see that. I didn't really have a problem with them, but I have a friend that was turned off because of it. This album's still lying in his car, untouched D:

His voice was definitely more dynamic in Travels, although I don't know if I enjoy that album as much to be honest
