I remember seeing these guys at ieperfest all the way back in 2006, playing an afternoon slot. Was already a fan of this album back then and you could tell these guys were gonna be huge. Such a shame to see how they’ve shifted their sound though. I get that you want to “mature” as a band, but that doesnt mean you suddenly have to start making crappy unoriginal metal songs. They were great at what the did, should have just stuck with it.

This was the first record l was completely obsessed with front to back. My friend put Anasasis as the theme of his photography project in year 8. Good memories. The look on the teacher's face was priceless.

I have an original Resist Records AU pressing and a copy of the US Epitaph release, and oddly enough it sounds like they have completely different mixes. I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere. anyone else compare the two versions and hear a difference?

Maybe Epitaph personally mixed it when Parkway signed with them? Dunno, just a guess.

I actually confirmed what happened. it's not remixed, but it was remastered when Epitaph released it. the original was mastered by Steve Smart, the Epitaph version was mastered by the higher profile Tom Baker.
I honestly like the original better. it's a little muddier, but it has more low end and the drums sound more natural and less processed.
