Just because he didn't describe guitar tones and time signatures, doesn't mean he didn't describe the album. Read a little harder. He explained how this album differs in dynamics from previous releases.

hard to expand on relative perfection. not that i think dtgl is a perfect record, but i don't think underoath are capable of a better one.

I don't know, I liked the emotional journey that spencer continued on into litsos, and to some extent
here. I feel like LITSOS was meant to have the same template as DTGL, but I didn't feel it was more of
the same.
I like how they experimented with this album, but they failed pretty hard in a few places

Pretty much how I feel. This album just doesn't flow like DtGL and LitSoS do. It's just not as emotional. And Spencer's harsh vocals are definitely weaker. I swear, sometimes it sounds like he's gurgling on this record (Around 1:20 on Catch Myself Catching Myself, you'll know what I mean)
