Mad Season are brilliant and time will prove they'll always be, a wonderful album they've given us and a bone chilling performance at The Moore that I'll always regard as one of the most powerful musical statements of the great 90's.
But dude... dude, dude, dude... how can you not dig Pearl Jam? Seriously, dude...

Pearl Jam are a fantastic band, but the weakest of the big four IMO, and I realise how little Nirvana love there is on this website ha.
|
| |
In my opinion, they're tied alongside Alice as the number 1. For me, Nirvana's a step below the other guys, but they're still great. In Utero and MTV Unplugged are amazing.

Heard their first 3 albums a number of times, the musicians are good, but Vedder's voice is annoying and muffled. I feel like Vitalogy was really forced as well...
Soundgarden > Alice in Chains > Nirvana > Pearl Jam : )

Is it true that Pearl Jam were more popular in their heydey then Nirvana? At least in the US? I'm only 23 so I wasn't really of age when Grunge was king.

I've read so. Damn, I need my man Dannyboy to come back and spread the Pearl Jam love. Also, Vitalogy is really amazing.

Don't get me wrong, I think their great in their own right. Ten is a hard 4.5 from me.
|
| |
Yeah, I get you. Ten has just become a 5 for me, a couple of days ago I realized that it had been, and will most definitely continue to be, a close companion of mine not to be a hard 5. Vs. and Vitalogy are definitely 4.5 for me as well. No Pearl Jam record is below a 3.5 in my opinion.

I wasn't around to catch the grunge fury of the early 90's, born in 1998. However, I feel as if I'm the biggest grunge maniac here ahah.
Were you guys alive when all the Seattle bands got big?

"Ten > Down On The Upside"
Maybe if Eddie Vedder had a good voice... I do understand that Ten has great lyrics, but his voice is so like... drunken crazy guy rambling at a bar?
"Were you guys alive when all the Seattle bands got big?"
I was born in 1996 lol

This album came out on my third birthday and i'm from Seattle, but obviously I was too young to know about grunge.

Ars, I've never had a problem when it comes to Eddie's vocals. In fact, I think his baritone voice is one of the most iconic and powerful. But since I'm a huge fan, my opinion is bound to sound biased.

Yeah I think Eddie's a great singer, but I can see Ars's point, he does seem to ramble on occasion. In my opinion Cobain Cornell and Staley were all better.
