I'd even say listen to Meddle before both of those. Its good to appreciate Floyd's psych influences before going into their proggier stuff

Fearless has to be their most underrated song
Gorgeous acoustic work
I read once that Syd taught Roger that open tuning

The whale section is a bit freaky, true. Song takes me on a mystical journey every time though.

Yeah I guess that feedback screech is unsettling... but cmon that synth glow that slowly morphs into Gimour's amazing guitar lick build-up only to explode into the final verse is the best moment in music, period

Easily IMO. I get chills just thinking about it. 19 minutes all building up to one moment, and it is just perfect. I listened to it stoned one time, it actually melted my brain.

I've said it before and I'll say it again
Echoes is beyond wonderful to trip to. Its a whole new fucking world to explore. Every guitar chord and bass note helps to paint such a surreal image

Hmm I'd have to politely disagree, I end up on the floor with my brain leaking out my nostrils whenever Gilmour riffs that riff in Sheep. I just think Floyd have done better songs than Echoes, that's all.
