" "15 Step", "Bodysnatchers", "Nude", "All I Need", "Faust Arp", "House of Cards", "Jigsaw Falling into Place" and "Videotape"."

Did you really just name 8/10 of the songs on In Rainbows as skippable, yet somehow manage to not name the album's worst song? I'm genuinely confused (Before anyone thinks that I'm referring to Reckoner is the worst, I'm referring to Weird Fishes, which is still a great song but not as great as others.)

"The Tourist" is probably the least skippable song ever tbh

I wouldn't go that far, but it is a great song for sure

If "Optimistic" is a 20/5 then "Kid A" must be a 3000/5

Still don't feel Treefingers or Motion Picture Soundtrack, but agreed that Optimistic and the t/t both rule

"Treefingers" isn't the best, but "Motion Picture Soundtrack" is incredible.

Yeah "Motion Picture Soundtrack" is amazing, I don't understand how it can be seen as lesser than the rest of this in any way.

"Treefingers" doesn't offer much on it's own but it is great as a breather between the album's two halves. Transitioning straight from "How To Disappear Completely" to "Optimistic" just wouldn't work as well.

"Treefingers" isn't completely useless on its own. It's a really nice ambient track. I agree that it works best in context, though.

@Ars I've heard "Weird Fishes/Arpeggi" a year or two before hearing the rest of the album (and before developing a somewhat good taste, may I say) so that's why it doesn't bother me as the rest of the album. But yeah, it's probably on the same (or lower) level as the rest of the record (excluding the only worthwhile song, "Reckoner").

I completely disagree that the album isn't worthwhile

All I Need is easily my 2nd favorite Radiohead song

Ocean, I didn't say "Treefingers" was completely useless on its own, I just would probably never go "Hey I really want to listen to Treefingers right now!", it's just not that kind of song ya feel?

No problem Ars. I remember a lot of critics applauded the album at the moment of the release for it being "a perfect bridge" between the "experimental" RH and the "catchy" RH. Which is precisely why I don't like it: the few sound experiments that are there are far too safe, allowed only if it's perfectly clear they won't scare off any casual listeners, it makes them completely unexciting. And the songs themselves I feel I've heard somewhere before, it's the same old Radiohead, just dressed in some fancy new sonic clothes (clothes which are, again, unexciting). I'm aware that some people view these defects as advantages but for me it just sums up to boredom.

Yeesh tough crowd

I also believe In Rainbows is their most accessible, but it's still nothing short of amazing.

Fair enough, BoneyKing. I just disagree with what you said about it not offering much on its own.

In Rainbows is absolutely their most accessible album, but it still rules.
