This is such a grower

I was bored out of mind the first three or four times I heard this but listening to it now, I'm loving it

every song is just wonderfully written, and the lyrics are super relatable (at least for me)

Yeah the lyrics were always interesting for me, it's the music what never sat well with me, until now.

'Alameda' is so goooood

shuffling your deck of trick cards

i think my favourites would be Rose Parade, Say Yes, Angeles (omg that song), and Cupid's Trick. every song is great on this though, easily one of the most consistent I've ever heard

I never realized this but I love the production, the way his voice is sort of "hids" behind the music
makes an eerie/sad atmosphere

i love the production too. i think it was his last "lo-fi" recording. all the instruments just sound so warm, especially the bass. the atmosphere match the album cover's coloring in some weird ways, how it simultaneously feels warm yet desolate and lonely

Lo-fi? This sound quality in this is head and shoulders above any lo-fi I've heard.

Then again I haven't heard that many lol

I'll be checking this dude's other stuff.

im pretty sure it's lo-fi but i could be wrong. I know it was the last one before he joined a major label and had access to lots of fun toys, and flawless production.

I love lo-fi, but this album does nothing with me. I'm trying to get into the work of this guy, but as of now, I'm not very impressed.

Well, I'm going to check out his first album now. Sadly, I don't understand his lyrics, so I might miss half of the fun.

his first album is one of his best. it's alot more folky/raw than this, too

Well, as english not being my first language, I have no true emotional connection to the words he uses. Sad but true.
