there are some things that take a while to understand, and there are some thing that I will always think are overrated. That's it. The first two listens to this album really annoyed me, I almost hated it, but I didn't even like indie/folk back then. Now that I love a lot of it, it was easier to enjoy this.

And what do you mean by 'don't understand' yet? For example, when I hated The National, I knew nothing about indie. When I hated Bon Iver, I knew nothing about indie. Now, I know the genre pretty well and enjoy a lot of it, but still, after at least 5 listens, find "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" insanely overrated.



When I knew nothing about screamo, I hated Circle Takes the Square. Now, I am no screamo expert, but liking enough bands in the genre and enjoying some of it as a whole at least shows that I know a decent amount about it. I still find Saetia overrated.



So what you're saying is true to some degree, but most things that I find overrated in the genres that I actually enjoy now will probably never change. I will never like Saetia. Or Orchid. Or Neutral Milk Hotel (except the first song on that album). I will never like Interpol. Because I actually enjoy the genres to some degree now, but still find some of these things overrated.
