I'm not saying something with a lot going on has more emotion as it's too busy being crazy to have emotion in it.
Sorry, BoC don't do anything great with their sounds. The synths are so light and compared to the electronics that Death Grips use, it's just bland IMO

Love you Choccy but this is just lol.

Even if you hate the "rapping", you can't deny that their electronics are interesting at the very least :]

i love rap music but damn could I just not get into death grips. Had a kid once play some death grips at a party I had. Everybody seemed to like it so I just let it play but the rapping was just so fucking annoying to my ears.

I'm suprised people would actually be ok with DG at a party though.

"I think you should relisten to it wba. Im listening to it now and its a truly relaxing and soothing song. Intricate and beautiful in its own, non-classical right. Theres nothing complex about it or modulative nor innovative. And i'd disagree with anyone who says they find Xtal to be emotionless, its filled with it. Hidden between the ticks, locked up under the hum of the woman. It's there."
I'll check the whole album soon, I'm very open minded
"But their only inherent value is compositional, whether they actually succeed in creating emotion is dependent on the listener. If the listener doesn't feel 'power and emotion' as a result from key changes and modulations, they aren't wrong in that."
this might be true, but I really feel bad for anyone who finds less beauty in something where there's so much going on both dynamically and musically than a 3 chord song
"It's the same as pointing to a tall building and gushing over it as a feat of mathematics and resources, without actually considering whether the building is beautiful or not."
well, I wouldn't like to live in a house without windows, where the rooms are so randomly placed that noone would care if instead of the bathroom there was another kitchen

Techno. Like Country, Rap and Pop, Techno is one of those genres that is often just not given a chance.

This is arguably one of the finest ambient/IDM records produced. I own every major Aphex Twin album on vinyl and this is no exception. This alongside Selected Ambient Works Volume II are cream of the crop in the ambient genre
