In fairness, the only FNM anyone *needs* to hear is Angel Dust

I've gathered that but I also haven't heard that either! Will check soon

As someone who deeply hates Patton's voice in The Real Thing, I strongly agree with this statement.

Sheesh, Johnny and rod always back each other up.
This and Album of the Year are also musts

^ Absolutely, FNM essentials. Patton’s vocal evolution alone is amazing to follow.

The essential is Angel Dust.
The highly recommended is The Real Thing
The pleasantly surprising is Album of the Year
Everything else is best avoided

This is their most Mr. Bungle sounding record. Very eclectic and strange but never sounds demented aside from a few manic moments. Patton’s vocals are still a highlight. Ricochet’s probably my favorite song of theres. Also damn Ford get on this!!

Digging the grave still hits home, especially with the last "relationship" I had...

I reckon all Mike Patton FNM is a must. They're all 4's and up

Title track still rules
This is ten times better than ‘Album of the Year’ for me, that’s two great songs and then mostly a load of stuff that doesn’t sound quite right, hard to put my finger on it, something in the production and performance makes it super sterile
This is a bit too eclectic and in love with its own cleverness with some of the genre pastiches

I really like AOTY but yeah, I take it those two songs are Stripsearch and Ashes to Ashes?
Two best songs on that one for me by quite some distance, Last Cup or Sorrow rocks too.

Was going to say Last Cup and Ashes but Stripsearch is a decent return to an Evidence type of tune too yeah

Ashes chorus is one of my all time favourites, another thing you could say is at least Patton was still on top form for AOTY.

Patton is probably the best thing about that album true, still think something holds him back on that one too though
Helpless is nearly a FNM classic but I think they made a few iffy choices with it
