Deliverance is their least interesting or proggy and is tied with Heritage as their worst. Both still great though and solid 3.5s

i love watershed, its inconsistent but it has some of their best stuff on it, lotus eater and heir apparent are arguably as good or better than anything on here. its definitely a transition album between their metal stuff and the all out prog of heritage, i guess some people dont like that

Watershed is sort of like GR in that it has a very unique atmosphere, it's really foreboding and creepy, exhibited in its best
songs Heir and Hessian Peal. And it's definitely better than Deliverance and Heritage

Watershed was pretty cool, but in no way better than Heritage... I have strongly mixed feelings about the new single, though. Not because it's not death metal, I actually think that's a good thing... I think the rest of the album will be fucking awesome though, because this new direction seems very interesting

Only Hessian Peel comes even close to anything on here. Watershed rules but it's prolly their second worst after Deliverance

3rd worst after Deliverance and Heritage

Deliverance is shit, Heritage rules, Watershed is somewhere in between.
|
| |
nothing on watershed is as good as the grand conjuration
Half the songs on Watershed destroy The Grand Conjuration which is actually pretty weak.

agreed, I like it more than Damnation, Heritage or Watershed, maybe even this one too. it's at least on a similar level to this one for me.

it's opeth with the most amount of balls ever (minus MAYH). some bits definitely drags but they still pull it off very well

exactly, i love the sheer dark heaviness it brings

The title track is prolly my favorite 'peth track tbh. Master's Apprentices and A Fair Judgement rule hard too. But that's only half the album. Don't even get me started on Wreath

Deliverance is pretty much some of the most boring death metal I've ever heard.
But I think Heritage is easily one of Opeth's best so... yeah.

yeah the title track rules, wouldn't say it's my favorite Opeth song but it's probably top 10

damn Jamie, I knew you loved Heritage, but why you gotta hate on Deliverance so much? i can see how it might seem like heavy Opeth by numbers at first, but it has a lot of depth to it
