this conversation came from candidates for the best phxc record of 1994 -- the point is that Sweetheart is a swag enough record and covers easily enough bases this doesn't invest in to be as viable a contender, and that playing soggy biscuit over preferences re. more digestible, halftime, sing-songy factors is pretty indicative of how far it is from an open/shut case

As I alluded to on the last page, this is essentially an expansion upon a rather modest number of ideas. Their gradual builds and manipulation within a cohesive whole is part of the appeal for me. It's definitely hypnotic. Sometimes all I want are these grooves
