Agree that this might be the most innocuous Radiohead record to date, all things considered, but I can't imagine sorting this below the HTTT or THE BENDS. The former, I concede, has some amazing cuts that are indeed better than *most* of the tracks here (excepting FUL STOP, which is an all-timer), but that album's cumbersome excess will always been the shackle around its ankles. That album could be trimmed to eight or nine tracks +one or two from the B sides, and it'd be a top-tier Radiohead album without question. As is...I can't do it.

there isn't one thing on this album that makes me feel remotely the way 'there, there' does.

There There is better than anything on this record, but if you're jamming either this or HTTT start-to-finish in 2023, you are doing something very very wrong

I do listen to HTTF in full, but that's also the reason I barely ever get around to making this admittedly quite demanding commitment

so perhaps you're onto something

this album has like four good songs tops lol, which is somehow less than HTTT. its relative paucity of outright bedshitting puts it a step above, but tec is right in that those + the bends any%s pleb-tier rh

and honey sorry could you move your gatepost a little closer to mine, can't hear you clearly from this distance

i'd say that this album lacks highlights actually. Quite a few number of good songs, but only few are great and i don't think any stack up to the RHs best

Present Tense? Daydreaming? True Love Waits?

I mean even Burn the Witch is fucking amazing even tho it doesn't really belong here

i can never remember much about this album, but i remember the version of true love waits wasn't good. always thought that was an overrated song anyway
