KNY is 4th best. ;-)

Ohms > DE = WP > KNY > SNW > the rest

this is down in the lower-mid band with AtF
SNW and WP are the only acceptable answers for #1

Yeah my opinion on this really hasn't changed. I didn't necessarily expect that summary to hold up but I still really think this is the best thing they've done. KNY is gorgeously boring (save for a few highlights), WP and DE were the gold standard but I feel like this matches those classics yet is more consistent. Both of those albums have tracks I skip but here it's all killer. SNW is great for the melodies but not heavy enough.

The heavy songs on SNW (and s/t ig) are the only ones they have with good harshes, so idk about that

wrist/self titled two sides of the bestones coin, one for peak dreamy/diverse tones and the other for peak heavy/druggy tones, albeit i never jam the proper order of s/t. track order of that record feels like its on shuffle

Since when is KNY considered ‘boring in a good way’? It’s obviously their best tho

kny's tracklist pretty evenly splits the difference between some of their strongest modern material (leathers, entombed, rosemary, what happened) w some of their least interesting material to date that no matter how much i jam has never left any impression on me (romantic dreams, graphic nature, gauze)

Yes + Entombed is pretty much the definition of boring in a good way

Agree with Graphic Nature and Gauze being meh. Weirdly enough I also agree with Johnny despite liking the track.

i think i do too, at least when i think about the song on paper (truthfully haven't even listened to the tones in like half a year). it stretches on for a while, is pretty repetitive, and is already kinda retreading xerces, but its still pretty fuckin good despite all that, and some of those reasons kinda play into what makes it work
