the first track is pretty alright but for whatever reason it gives me no motivation to finish the rest of the album. havent been listening to much metal lately so that might be contributing to it

Wizard I usually agree with you but I'm a firm subscriber to the ideal of 'honing one's craft'. We all love to be dazzled by this or that, sure, but there's something to be said about deepening one's appreciation of refinement and a slow evolution towards a craft. I'm sure the first Samurai sword dazzled a lot of folks. After some time, the only people left to dazzle were the ones who appreciated the minutae of the craftsmanship that deepend over time beyond the innovation itself.
Appreciate your incite into this Orb, I respect the opinion. This is not a fine wine I enjoy particularly. TBH I can't really see how this is an improvement from one album to another.

Again, this feels like Stare Part 2. They obviously changed their style up quite a bit from Shrines (which was more like EiF) to Stare, but from Stare to this it's extremely similar.
