i've got a working theory that even if an album is objectively better than its predecessor, if its cover art is merely a cd or vinyl record, people will rate it lower

steal this album, yeezus, jesus is king, the list goes on...

To Birdo guy: "Though often reported in the media as being a collection of B-sides and outtakes, the band insisted that the Steal This Album! material is of the same quality as the tracks which made it onto Toxicity. Vocalist Serj Tankian has said that the songs were left out of Toxicity "because they did not fit the overall continuity of the album"(wikipedia). So it really seems like a collection of mostly good b-side tracks with solid finishing touch. This title has some good tracks but not an overarching idea behind it as other soad albums do. It just doesn't feel like an piece of art these guys sit down to create together, but just bunch of old ideas put together and polished well. That's why I don't think it's a real album, but a solid collection of songs from bands past. It contains some really good soad songs no doubt.

This isn't objectively better than Toxicity, but nice theory.

Subjectively. It's your opinion that it's not better than Toxicity.

it was revealed to me in a dream that this album is objectively better than toxicity

my subjective opinion is irrelevant in the face of astral truth

this combines for me the silliness of the first record and the great songwriting dynamics of toxicity

nĂ¼guns is a timeless classic
