Three listens in and I can comfortably say Love As An Act of Rebellion is the best song. What a banger.

New album feels much better suited to Greg than this does

For sure! I also really like the new album as opposed to this.

Idk if I really agree with that. The clean sections in both the title track and Sacrificial Participant, along with the chorus in the latter, feel like they suit Greg just fine imo.

man i really dig this. greg is still a monster and the riffs are pretty meaty with the right amount of spastic. i don't really care for etid outside of hot damn so i'm pleasantly surprised. opener and closer are awesome love the melodic clean sections, greg crushes it as always. late career dillinger esque. does the new album go in that direction? i really hope so.

It’s okay. I will atone. To your question, the new album has more DEP-isms and ETID-isms overall. I think it’s pretty well rounded. It’s not quite peak Dillinger or ETID though.

That damn Counterparts-ass lead in Sacrificial gives me the ick with Greg's voice over it. Put off listening to this for so long cause I was sure I'd be disappointed and maybe I self fulfilled it. Idk, this doesn't really feel like it needs to exist. Not that that's a metric for quality, because nothing NEEDS to exist, but like idk. The songwriting is a bit rote, bit tropey. Become So Small is probably my favorite track. None of the bloat or wack melodicism of the ones that came before. Doesn't sound like anything new, it's just a rad, focused metalcore song. T/t has parts that I'm torn on, but it probably ranks second.

This enema isn’t even from a god! That’s the last time I attend Catholic mass.
