I do genuinely love it enough to earn that title but I also admit that I take pride in that it's a unique pick in the sput/RYM scene. Ohms is the cool pick, Punisher would earn respect from the indieheads. You could pick Rina Sawayama for the artsy pop pick. They're all respectable.
But Swift released this gorgeous record and perfectly married accessibility with a familiar yet masterfully crafted indie pop sound. I've read comments from so many fans that said this album introduced them to more like it, beginning of course with The National and Bon Iver. That's immensely respectable on its own. Then compare this to everything else on the charts beside her. This rightly deserves AOTY. At the very least it should be as respected as Norman Rockwell.
