I’ve only heard this, High Violet, Boxer and Alligator so far but I need the others asap considering all of what I’ve heard ranges from fantastic to absolutely astonishing.

TWFM is their peak for me, Hawks, I reckon you'll adore it if you loved HV. This has settled comfortably as a 3.5 for now. "Rylan," "Where is Her Head?" "So Far...." and "Quiet Light" are almost classic songs for me.

To the dude seeing them live, I'm not even a huge National fan but seeing them last summer in a park at night, next to the lights of downtown Toronto, was an environment/vibe second to none. It was incredible.

Incredible live band, in proper environment.

I've seen them at Riot Fest during the TWFM era and last year at a sit-down venue in Hamilton, Ontario. Both performances were great.

Trying to imagine "Not in Kansas" with black metal drumming

Enjoying how this one just meanders and wanders along. Which is arguably why it hasn't hit me like some of their other records, as the individual songs dont feel distinct or riveting or hugely memorable on their own, but the ride as a whole is very pleasant

It’s fine. Very artsy. My biggest complaint is the music was not very well incorporated for the most part.

I can save you 26 minutes of your life. Girl is born. Girl is teenager. Girl gets married. Girl is a hoe and cheats on her husband. Girl has a baby with husband. Everybody dies except the kid. Its black and white with subtitles. Its complete shit.

If anything you've just made me morbidly curious to see if it's actually that bad :D

sounds utterly pointless

Agreed that that Riot Fest Toronto show was great back in 2014.
I have no interest at all in the movie, it seems totally basic based on the music videos.

As someone who has no real attachment to this band, after one cursory listen at work I deem this 'fine'
